Dance Art Festival - Rules & Regulations

Below are the general rules and regulations for the Dance Art Festival.

Inside the Hall:

  • An entry fee for spectators is payable at the foyer of the theatre.
  • Please make sure you show your entry wristband at the door before entering the hall.
  • Dancers do not pay an entry fee on the day they compete.
  • No video cameras or digital/flash cameras are permitted inside the hall. Should you disregard this, the group/solo in which your child is dancing, will be immediately disqualified!
  • No contact with the judges by parents or dancers.
  • No refreshments allowed inside the hall.
  • Audience to remain seated while a dancer is busy competing on stage.

 

Backstage:

  • ONLY dancers and teachers are allowed backstage, regardless of the age of the dancer.
  • Dancers will only be allowed backstage 10 items before their actual dance turn.
  • Dancers to remain quiet when they are backstage.
  • No props will be allowed backstage more than 10 items before the dancer's actual turn.


Dressing Rooms:

  • There are no dressing room facilities at the hall.
  • Each dancing school will be provided with a tent by the specific teacher.
  • Please make use of the tent, and not the bathrooms inside the foyer.
  • Accessories (Hair ribbons, La Pebra, Hairspray, hairpins en hair bands) must be supplied by parents.


Arrival:

  • Each dancer must report themselves at their school's tent ONE hour before the actual dancing time provided, dressed and ready to dance.
  • No adjustments will be made to the program to accommodate late arrivals.
  • Late arrivals will forfeit their entry.
  • Entry fees for withdrawals are not refundable

 

THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL!
